sidestand snapped

Post by ozzy »

be careful if you tip bike over on sidestand to spin wheels or what ever. mine spanned off. the lug that is attached to frame can clean off. was a bastard as was miles from home and had to rely on joe public to pay 4 petrol as could not get off it. it appears now inspected that it had probably been tipped over many times b4 i got it as there was only a little bit of clean metal left. so if you brought it second hand i would check this out. people on here often complained about how upright raptors sit when on stand, mine always lobbed over quite alot, know why now

Ouch!! have you been able to get it replaced Ozzy?
a mate span mine round while it was in his garden and I was worried as it always seemed a bit delicate. He does it all the time on his - but not on mine anymore

was not a case of replacing a broken part, the bit that snapped was the lug thats part of the frame that stand attaches to. got it welded and have ajusted it so bike has a good lean angle. all ok now. just dont pull bike over on stand to lift wheels.lesson learnt
