Great at a standstill.....

Post by stevepratt48 »

Thought I was getting somewhere, starts a treat, sounds lovely, but......
Now I've fitted the gear lever, I popped her into first, engine died. Thinking it was a stall, restarted (Neutral), into first, died. Whatever gear is selected, the engine cut s, will not start 'in gear'.
Any ides, please? Need what little hair I have left!!!
:? :?

Only a guess here but do these things have a sidestand switch?.
My CBR had the same problem and it turned out to be a bolt had fallen out so it read that the stand was down all the time and therefore cut out every time i selected any gear  .
NOTE; bikes do not have air brakes, lofting the front wheel will have an effect on a bikes braking efficiency.
dont arf get the adrenalin pumpin tho!!!

Thanks, to all, 'twas the sidestand switch, not even broken, the pivot was a bit stiff, spring didn't compress the switch, enough. Spray of WD40, twiddled, vrooom, vrooom!!
Happy chappie :D
