Not going to lie, i regret stripping it down when i still could be blasting about on the death trap.

on this photo where the exhaust bolts up to the head, chunk of aluminium missing? is that right? Where the gasket sits or has it been shedding its own weight?
Yep, there is a chuck of aluminium missing :o But I reckon there is sufficient left for it to be OK :nod:

Be careful when buying the compression gaskets, as I bought set from Wemoto (I think) and they were too large. So I used the old ones with a skim of exhaust paste and all was fine.
The starter motor bolts that hold it together. Seem to be holding it together with hopes and dreams

Mine were also rusted to buggery but they did at least have fully functioning hole to fit into !! I don't recall but is the hole in the engine casting or the starter motor - a scrappy might well suffice.
No wonder its leaking oil when the casings are corroding away from the block
Yep, I had exactly the same and the corrosion was so bad I had to replace the alternator casing with a 2nd hand part (in black).

Coming along nicely - plenty of copper slip & ACF50 bought?

I used a set of those renthal grips and they wear well if a little 'hard' on the hands. I only realised this when I replaced them with some Dominos.

For me, ProGrip 714 Enduro grips are the default. Very grippy, with a slight barrel-shape that fits the hand much better than straight-sided and enhances throttle control while reducing cramp. Must have bought dozens of sets...

Nifty way to get the sleeves for the suspension links sorted! Given they are ground to size and sufficiently hard to take the needle rollers, that could be a nice little earner for you and/or the engineer cos the originals are definitely extinct. :nod:

Got the tyres taken off the rims today.

Don't know why though I've no idea when I'll get them coated.. Don't want to drop them off for them to say "closed until the virus fecks off"

Half tempted to buy another run about until it all calms down.

Powder coaters just rang, left footpeg hanger has cracked both sides around the gear lever pivot bolt.
