hello from Le Mans

Post by craftycat »

Hello everyone, so there are other Cagiva Raptor owners out there!! I was getting worried! Got myself a Raptor 1000 in July and I still have a huge grin on my face! Already done 6500kms including 2650 in the pyrenees and south of France for our hols in Sept. We are Brits living and working in France. Hubby rides a Kwak ZZR1200 when he isn't trying to sneak off on mine!!!
It's fantastic to find a forum for the raptor, so many questions I wanted to ask!! Can't find any dealers here, am I right in thinking 3 cross in poole is the biggest one in UK? If so seems like a good excuse for a trip back!!

Hello and welcome to the asylum Craftycat.

3X are probably your nearest dealer, but give them a call before you hop on the ferry cos your parts might need to be ordered!

The pyrenese is a trip I did a few years back and is no my agenda again soon!!

nice to see you here!

Welcome Craftycat. Yes, Raptors are good aren't they 8) .

I did the Route Napoleon to the South of France this year and it was bl**dy fantatstic. I've done the Pyrenees (coast to coast) on a pushbike and plan to do it on the Raptor before I die  .
So many motorcycles, so little money!

Lol, Jimbo.. I can certainly recommend the pyrenees on a raptor! Stopped off at the col de Tourmalet and hubby nicked my bike for a quick whizz!! Only thing he wasn't expecting was just how fierce the engine braking is!! He did come back a very happy bunny though.
Thanks for the advice Shebee, I did contact 3x a few months ago as a friend of ours took my bike out of the stable and didn't see the U lock... et voila.. one mudguard in lots of pieces  It was the week before our pyrenees trip... tried to get a new one but no one had one in stock so eventually got it plastic welded and we did a bodge paint job to cover it until we get round to getting it properly resprayed.
Anyway.. couple of pics to put face to name!! One outside our house and the other somewhere in the pyrenees Col de Bisque I think!

Ok... why won't the pics work?

Yup definately more than 2! I know.. needed to stop and catch my breath! Hubby described the roads as "technical".... errrr yes darling you weren't kidding!!!! Good fun though, I learnt a lot. Notice the carefully placed cows complete with pretty bell.... and the 'escape lane' next to it!!

Aha! Now I get it, I have to cut out the numbers at the end which on other sites I don't. Usually I right click on my website and highlight properties.. copy and paste.. now I need to cut the end bit off.
Ta muchly Shebee!
