120mph max speed!

Hi people

My trikes got this little problem, it gets to 120mph 8k rpm and thats it, any ideas people?

I need to get this sorted co next mod is Nitrous!

Will it rev above 8K in any gear??

If not it seems as though you have some sort of rev limiter fitted!!

In that case what speed does it reach in 5th and what are the max revs??


Next time you are out on the bike do some checks whilst in top gear, speed at various revs, 3k, 4k and 5k


We can the compare these figures with a standard Xtra to check that your trike is not too highly geared.

Can anyone with an Xtra help out with the above test.

Plan on doin a comparison with a 2 wheeled raptor at the w/e.

Would it be anything to do with the extra wheel you think and the aerodynamics of a barn door possibly? The extra wheel will increase the amount of friction between the bike and the road, this is called rolling resistance, if memory serves me correct you're running wider tyres as well so this will also be a factor.
Bikes have really bad aerodynamic, mainly due to the person sat on 'em. 120 MPH though none to shabby for a trike. if you want more go, get into rockets or jet engines.
