2006 Raptor 650 suspension/seat height

Post by 1200suzuki »

Has anyone fitted a shorter shock or had a shock rebuilt with a shorter spring to lower the height of the bike? Thanks

Welcome in :D had the raptor long? - mostly it seems that the base triangles get altered for seat height rather than the shock, not sure if anyone's done it to a 650 but the procedure would be the same

There are photos and specs of the triangles floating around that allow you to lower the ride height very successfully which we have done. Currently my main PC is malfunctioning or I would upload my copies but if you have no luck, drop me an email and I'll forward the specs when I am operational again.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. The bike belongs to my girlfriend. The seat has been cut out and she got the Daytona boots but it still needs to go down another inch preferably more. I have seen the lowering kits online but will see about a shorter shock as another option.

twould be worth asking 'Craftycat', I'm pretty sure they did some major re-jigging to get the bike more comfortable for a 5footer
How tall is the lady? I'm 5'3" and have no problems, but I guess I've probably squished the seat and shock over the years  I found the narrowness of the Raptor helps when you walk close to the ground :|

I am fairly certain the suzuki ones won't fit and the lowering kits for the Raptor are just altered triangles. My wife is 5ft1" and can almost flatfoot in her boots. The attached may help. This is for the lowering size. I had mine made by an engineer mate out of plate aluminium and they are doing the job fine. Cheers

Thanks for the drawing. How much will these plates drop the back end by?

Thanks. I want to see if the triangles on the bike are standard or not. Does anyone have the standard sizes between hole centres for a fuel injected bike 06? Thanks

Hagon shock now fitted with 40mm drop, forked dropped 10mm, rides well but very hard ride on bumpy roads so may need to soften the damping. Cornering dosn't seem any slower. :D
