Post by shedmonkey »

Hi all nearly got the bike ready for the stella alpina rally.

Bike was standard v raptor still have all bits so that i can convert back.

But every time i look at the bike i find something else to do back brake is sticking now and tank vent blocked. Work done so far:- pair removed, tre fitted, triangles fitted, fork spacer and 5w oil, fairing fitted, panniersand rack made and fitted, hotgrips, lighter socket, exhaust, scott oiler, power commander.

Well im back disc arrived at 4pm set off at 5.15pm .Got to italy then the shock decided it was alergic to its oil  went a bit boing boing boing after that(its fun riding alpine hairpins with a dodgy shock) Nearly came off on a roundabout at speed got foot down in time enough to save it(brown pants time) .But frankenraptor did surprisingly well .3170 miles filled up 30 ish times(you never quite know where next station is) The best i got was 123 till light and the worst was 97 til light on. Youve got to get to the alps the roads are awesome. Will post some pics soon :ride:

8) sounds brilliant, shame about the shock, mine went so I know how it feels :( not the most comfortable of feelings.

Here are a few pics of the trip  The campsite was about 10k up a gravel track. But the sunday run up the mountain was about 20k on a really rough track(not good on road tyres and firm suspension needed a few underpant changes) with very big dropoffs and crossers coming at you from all directions. At least 2 bikes had holed sumps.

I dont think Frank was designed for this.Coming back down the track was worse than going up.

The front end is a second hand powerbronze endurance fairing off a gs500 and ive lopped off the bottom half(it was knackered anyway) and sprayed by me but wouldnt exactly call it a work of art Dizz(is the alcohol out of your system from the weekend yet  )
