Which Oil ?

Post by snapdragon »

Any recommends? I think we need some decent quality.
I used to use Putoline semisynth and she was very happy with it, but my local shop closed a while back and I've used some different makes since then - even as far as halfords own!!

I have Halfords own in at the mo, and it's fine.

I even used GTX magnatec once, that was ok too.

Any bike specific semi synth or fully synth 10/40 is cool. i use total moto semi synth and i get it cheap coz im friendly with my local oil depot. Dont use a car oil its no good for wet clutches.

Nowt wrong with Halfords own. The SV prefers it to Motul, can't remember whose it really is in Halfords packaging. IIRC Hein Gericke oil is Motul too ;)

Another one for Halfords bike-variety semi-synth.

I used to have a Rover 100 [lol actually a Metro] and it ran noticeably quieter and smoother with Halfords "car" semi-synth so I've used the bike version in my bikes ever since.

Must admit the Rappy is still pretty rattly even after a fresh oil change though.
