Will I make it to the petrol station?
What do you all think?
we have 130miles on the trip since last filing up, but I was out without funds/cards today so got home and parked and as it's cold and dark decided to stay.
It's a mile to the nearest fuel (but I'll need to warm her up first I guess) will I make it? or should I send out for a can-full of gas?

IF you go reallly slow and at the lowest revs possible............
Not that I've ever been put in that situation over Tan hill, in the middle of nowhere.

Re: Will I make it to the petrol station?
think it was 131.6 or something like that for me......if that helps
Nearly took off up the highest pub in the country..due to it being rather light, nearly took out my friends SV....pair of us holding on for dear might in a gale
I wouldn't recommend trying to get much further. Twas a hares whisker from conking out altogether

NOTE; bikes do not have air brakes, lofting the front wheel will have an effect on a bikes braking efficiency.

I once managed 130 miles before the light came on . I was sure the fuel light was broken, but then i was on the autobahn cruising at a 70/80 miles an hour.

CG and DB riding 'on the edge' again?
sheeeet DB I would have been worried, maybe the Rap had switched to Km - being in germany and that
I think I was having to use more counter-steering instead of point-and-shoot which was 'different'
I may wimp-out and get t'dragon to fetch me a can of juice

ahhh frugal!! I reverted to frugal mode when the light stopped flashing and kept the revs down and the gears up for the 20mile homeward stretch. Not best for a road full of twisties, but having no competition and knowing the road quite well, the bends flowed ok.AZ wrote:I`ve done 138 once, well i was following the mrs to wales

i've sort of worked out that once mine goes onto steady orange then i've got 10mile left with very steady riding.

Re: Will I make it to the petrol station?
I have done 10 litres per 100 miles on a steady 90mph cruise 15 litres in a tank gives 150 miles.
130 on normal UK roads general blasting about would have left me pushing it for the last 20 miles.
If its about a mile to the petrol pump and you run out in 3/4 of a mile you only have 1/4 mile to push.

the first half mile is flat - but the second half is up-hill and I'm an old ricketty (even though it's softie southern hill)Mighty Mariner wrote:I have done 10 litres per 100 miles on a steady 90mph cruise 15 litres in a tank gives 150 miles.
