Hi Folks,

Anyone know the specs of the standard 2002 650 Raptor sprockets and chain?

Replaced them once before but, I lost the link for Front sprocket and chain supplier - My mechanic had to get a GSXR600 sprocket machined out a bit to fit last time.

SV650 front sprocket should fit, I had heaps of trouble finding a rear sprocket until I came across this guy

Freight might be a little bit expensive from here, but it's a definate source.

Hi,

Did you give them a call? I don't think they list everything on the site.

I was looking for a sprocket which can fit by milling it 1mm diameter(since there is no sprocket with 121 mm diameter at all)
I found out that at the 650 fits the complete set from a GSXR 600 1997(only the 1997 since the other model have 5 holes for nuts).front sprocket is the same with the sv,the chain is 108 links, 525.
The rear just needs to be milled the internal diameter from 120mm to 121mm and its done.

For reference.
When looking for a 'steel' rear sprocket for my 1000, all shops marketing them were actually selling one that fit a Hyabusa by JT. If you go on Wemoto it gives you the dimensions and part number. This does not fit. IIRC they are '120' not '121'. Maybe the 650 shares the same rear sprocket as the 1000??

However, I had my carrier successfully milled by 1mm and I can use the(Busa) sprocket which is being wrongfully sold as a Raptor one by most suppliers.

IF I'd have wanted an ally one, I could buy off the shelf that fit IIRC. I don't like ally sprockets, hence going to the extreme of milling the carrier.

The 650 sprocket has the same dimensions with the one from the 1000 but it has a difference.the chain at the 1000 is 530 and at the 650 525.
so for the 1000 you get a hayabusa and mill it 1mm
and for the 650 you get a gsxr 600 and mill it 1mm

So I just got the chain and the sprockets.
Front sprocket,JT JTF520.15
Rear sprocket JT JTR498.46
And the chain is a DID VX 525 Gold

Got ya!

I still find it puzzling that we are marketed a sprocket for either bike which clearly doesn't fit, and when explaining this to sales staff they look at the diagram and scratch their heads!!

Anyway, anyone falling upon this thread now has the info for both bikes and be able to rectify it.
