I've finally got round to cosmetically improving my 1000, but I'm beginning to wish I hadn't!
Can anyone please give me some tips on getting at the right hand bolt holding the exhaust on to the rear cylinder manifold? The pipe fouls the allen key bolt so how do I undo it? I want to remove the swing arm but I need to remove the small section of exhaust to do so. By the state of the bolts it's never been removed since the bike was assembled in Varese, and no wonder!
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Getting at bolts?
Thanks Vassilis, but it's not because it's seized, I simply cannot get the driver into the bolt passed the actual pipe, not even an ordinary Allen key. There just isn't enough space.
I've got the old bolt out and pipe removed now by getting some long nosed pliers on the bolt and twisting (and a lot of swearing). But I don't want to do that when reassembling as I cannot tell how tight it is! I don't want it to come loose and allow hot exhaust gasses to flow over my shock .

Re: Getting at bolts?
to do it properly you need to remove shock and battery undertray to get in properly and even then you need a UV joint or flexi drive. its a pain but is possible.............

When you refit it may be worth changing that bolt to something thats easier to tighten/loosen for the next time.............
