hello new member with questions
Just thought I would introduce myself
I am Keith from the UK and have just bought a 1000 raptor 2004 after selling my zzr1100
I would like to customise my new toy with many things but for now a few basics please
I need a steering damper that doesn't cost a fortune please
I would also like some of the brake and clutch levers like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300832192314? ... 1438.l2649 so far i have asked but no one seems to have any
maybe there is a list of stuff that fits the raptor and fits other more common bikes as well ?
so hello to everyone, i love the bike so far and as soon as i can get it more to my liking then i can see a long
happy relationship

Hi Kieth, welcome in and hope you hang around and join the fun!
A standard setup Raptor should really not need a steering damper as its very stable.
If you must, a steering damper was fitted to the Xtra Raptor as standard so will fit straight on a normal one.
Other dampers have been made to fit quite easily so just find a reasonable priced one if you can and get engineering......
Re the clutch/brake levers check out the sticky in Technical - General for lots of info on what fits straight on or needs a bit of adapting.
Enjoy the rap

Welcome in, what part of the UK are you from?
If you can make it next weekend you will get plenty of ideas of mods to put on your wish list.

Hi mate
I'm from a small village Nr Bolton called Blackrod
pS whats going on next weekend ?
ps I have found a set of TL1000 levers which from what I have read should fit ? can anyone confirm this ?
and also do I need the TL10000 clutch lever perch with switch ?
I am desperate to get a small headlight nose cone that will look similar to the V Raptor ? wish I had seen the V Raptor first
or is it possible to fit a VRaptor fairing to a standard 2004 1000 raptor ?
I would also like to "tidy up" the back end with a undertray or tail tidy of some kind
thank you for the warm welcome, and I love the bike

yes you can fit a V front end if you can find one - you'll need the V bars as well (as I recall)
can't confirm the levers though

Yes you will need the TL lever mount and switch for the clutch lever, good news is, the Raptor wiring plugs straight in.
Info on Quill here.

Re: hello new member with questions
Hi taz, welcome!
I just found some levers for the 650s, my local Cagiva dealer confirmed that the 650s and 1000s use the same part number, so they "should" fit, I'm really hoping so! I'm having to get them sent to Oz via the UK as I wanted the Vario adjustable length ones and got them on the http://www.bs-motoparts.com/default.asp ... rrency=gbp website, but they have others on eBay UK:
Folding - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V-Trec-Safety ... 5d40834557
Fixed - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V-Trec-ABE-Ca ... 5d40833ab7
I'll update the sticky in general technical when they arrive.

Re: hello new member with questions
Hi Spyke
so what your saying is these will (should) fit as a direct replacement ?
no nead to change the clutch perch for a TL100 clutch perch ? is that right ?
if so that would be great as the TL1000 clutch perch doesn;'t have a mirror fitting
thanks mate those would be perfect.
so far I have got new headlights
I am fabricating a new nose cone fairing
I have replaced the back end with a tail tidy and small number plate
new arrow indicators
new exhaust cans (still not picked which ones yet)
new fat bars with adapters
dozens of new bolts and nuts etc
new twin headlight setup
and many other bits and pieces , can't wait till it's all finished

They were ordered last week, so "should" be on the way to Bonnie Scotland now - they wouldn't post them to me here in Oz, so they're gonna have to go via my dad's, I'm sure he'll enjoy having a squizz at them anyway, they "look" to be pretty well engineered. I'll post up how I go with them, but folk on other forums seem pretty happy with that brand.
I did a lot of research prior to getting these, and the consensus is that the brake is straight TL1000, and the clutch is Aprilia RS250, like the front brake discs. Nice to see there's at least a little bit of consistency in their inconsistency!
Looking forward to seeing some pics of your baby.

Re: hello new member with questions
My levers arrived today, didn't get around to playing with them until now, but brake fits straight on, woo hoo! It's dark in the garage now (in Oz), so will do the clutch, and post pics, tomorrow.
And here's a tail tidy for you http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/stage-2-TAIL ... 20cd76ae9a - I've got one made by them on my Ducati and it's a nice bit of kit. Happy shopping!
