TLR ENGINE SWAP

Post by taz »

Has anyone swapped the standard engine for a TL1000R version ?
if so what problems did you have, if any and how did it perform after the swap ?
my mate has a TLR engine like new just sat there in his garage feeling lonely
thanks

It should fit physically but if you wanted to use the tlr throttle bodies you have some work to do with a remodeled air box and then you would have some loom work to do to run the bigger ecu.The power delivery is very different and without using the above mentioned bits then there wouldn`t be much point. It`s a stronger lighter engine as it has many titanium bits inside but it needs to have the breathing sorted or it`s just a waste.
NOTE; bikes do not have air brakes, lofting the front wheel will have an effect on a bikes braking efficiency.
dont arf get the adrenalin pumpin tho!!!
