Just looking at getting a v or x Raptor and would like to know if anyone could tell me
What to look out for on either of them before I go and buy one
Thanks in advance

Re: Hi from Newcastle Australia
Hi Welcome in
same as usual really - good mech order, clean, maint/service history - nothing specific that I can think of.
The early Vs needed an early chain change and a radiator spacer mod, but any on sale now should have been done.
good hunting

Yeah just the usual apart from check all the plastics as they are very brittle and hard to get a hold of.

Re: Hi from Newcastle Australia
Welcome, first off appearance is a good indicator, if it looks like it has not really been looked after, left out in the weather corrosion etc i would go over it very carefully.Has it been dropped, look for telltale signs of scrapes. Then the usuals , like chain , electrical ,brakes, motor, color of oil in motor, check in siteglass by standing bike upright! Its not hard to pick a bike that has not been looked after properly, if so i would stay away from it even if it looks ok at first glance! Has it been ridden and registered recently ? Mileage ? Test ride, check for smoothness of gearbox, these bikes have a pretty sweet gearbox. Pay attention to its previous owners Look closely for any mods ? TL = tick loudly but not overly noisy! Look for smoke on startup, leaky forks or shock, xrap has better suspension than the v and standards, make sure there are no error codes when running, battery ? just a few!Good luck! Oh yeah, dont forget to kick the tyres ,thats got to be worth something off the price

Re: Hi from Newcastle Australia
Actually not too many v and even less xraps come up for sale, but usually the v raptors anywhere between 4-7k the xraptor seems to be a bit fickle lately ,i got mine for 7,800 but i have seen them for less and anything up to 12k ? I think the xraps are coming down in price now, theres one floating around somewhere now for 6.5kmz250 wrote:55 years agoThanks for the feedback guys

Re: Hi from Newcastle Australia
Belated welcome! Can't think of anything to add to the above, just remember the TL1000S is still quite a popular motor so engine parts aren't too hard to obtain, just the plastics as others have said, and even they are not impossible.
