Gear Indicator

So I'm thinking of buying a gear indicator.
Found this one.

Takes signal from tacho and speedo and learns the gears.
Anyone knows if they work well?
Also how easy is it to find the tacho and speedo cables?
No way I m paying 100++ euros for a GiPro.
It's so simple to make on of these that if there wasn't ebay,I would have made it by myself.

GiPro is theft.
The cost for manufacturing it isn't more than 10 Euros.So If you are ok with paying 100E straight to their pockets no problem,but I m not ok with it...
There's a guy here in Greece that makes exactly the same like GiPro and sells it for 50E.
So even if I wanted to buy something like this,I would have bought that one.

Gipro also has 3 tre modes and tre can also be switched off

Learn to count your gears as you use them, knowing what gear you're in all the time adds to the feeling of being truly intimate with your bike, and doesn't add more things to check and or/fix - spend your money on beer instead and enjoy feeling smug.

Yup ,quite true, i guess you can have your bike plain old standard or you can individualize it with clear lenses,purple tread or whatever floats your boat, thats the great thing about the raptor, they respond well to mods. Honestly there's no hi tech in a gipro to check and fix ,once you set it , just forget it,too easy . You can by the parts off ebay and make youre own for a few dollars. I saw a thread on another site somewhere how to make a gipro if you dont want to pay $$$ for the real thing. love my gipro now for that hard earned beer oops forgot to mention that the gipro also has the option to disengage the rev limiter on gsxr and busa, not really relevant to the raptor though.

The GiPro is plug and play?
I have learned the gears and I rarely have a problem but helps sometimes when you are in 6th or in track where and tight corners I switched gear to 1st,which to the raptor isn't the best choice(especially at the 650,which is mine)
If the cost was greater I wouldn't even think about it ,but it's 15E.

Yes plug and play, it learns the gears or you can manually program , but i agree the price is over the top, i got mine on special at the time so that eased the pain and made way for a few more beers

After reading the posts and doing some research I wondered if there is unused gear selection sensing hardware in the Raptor. Suzuki SV650's (03-09) have the hardware and if Raptors have the same Engine it would make sense for it to still be there with only the neutral indicator being used. Here is an image from the SV650 manual ...

Has anyone disassembled the gear selection assembly on the Raptor to see what is there?
