Axle crash sliders

Post by Dante »

Has anyone fitted crash sliders at front wheel axle?
I m searching info to find out what fits.
I ve checked these ones
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291531516432?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
So I guess I have to measure my axle length and if it is the same or longer(I guess that with a longer screw it will fit) with those from the sliders, then they will fit?

Speak to this guy http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d ... llFeedback

Shop here http://stores.ebay.com/jaybeebikerbits

He specially made a set of rear axle sliders for my old 929 Blade some years ago, top quality workmanship if you give him the measurements of the internal bore of the axle etc, he'll more than likely make you a set up, if he does, I'll have a set as well.

Group buy maybe ???

I tried using an old set off my GSXR1000K5 I had kicking about, and the rod was too short by 20mm having measured the front internal spindle the rod needs to be 320mm in length for the rap front axle to give you enough length for the bobbins to fit, at least it does using R&G GSXR1000K5 ones, which tbh would have been a little bit of a bodge.

I got some made up for the Wife's Raptor from a local (Oz at least. He lives 2000miles away machinist buddy). I will see if I still have the drawings.

They came tapped to either M6 or 1/4"UNC and I just bought some appropriate threaded rod from the hardware store and one nut. Thread the nut on a couple of cm, then do one end all the way into the slider, tighten the nut up to jam that slider in place then put through the axle, mark flush with the end ofthe axle and cut about one cm back from there, clean the threads and do it up.

Let me see what I can find.

Thanks!
I measured the length of the axle and then I found the lenght from the gsxr.
Raptor's lenght is 5-6 cms larger.
I ordered the sliders, they arrived pretty fast and they fit perfectly.
They just need a longer nut, about 2cms more.
