Raptor Chapter

Hi

I recently find this forum, much more stuff in here than in French one dedicated to Raptor....
I will post pictures of my v raptor 1000, that I try to modified (MV agusta single swing arm, carbon parts) and that I am finally rebuilding as genuine as possible.

I will probably need help to find the missing parts, and advices to do as well as possible!

satge 1 was a piece of fun, mounting the mv single swing arm was nice, and I was very close to succeed (the only thing That missed was the exhaust)





I stopped because in France, the law have change, and it is not any more possible to homologuate any modification you made on your bike or car.
As it is my every day bike, I decided to go back to the original swingarm.

The ducati pearl white was a bit sad looking after all:



so I decided to move to stage 2, a more stealthy version: black fork, frame and engine, triumph street triple R mat grey paint, and carbon parts:





love this one.... I was inspired by the ducati monster diesel :



I ride it like this for month, and there come the dama.... I buy a house, ,and had lot work in it, and a garage full of stuff, so the bike has to sleep outside for about two year, without be ridden.....
After that, the pain makes some bubbles on the tank, and all the other parts needs some paint job.



So, as an italian bike must be red, I decided to move to step 3 and get it back to original look.

And here I am for now: I find a new set of plastics, new red fender, a red seat in very good state, I'm currently working on unmounting the bike to paint frame and engine, and work to give new life to a red gas tank.





Lot of work pending, but one day I will ride it again!!!

Anyone got any old/rough/damaged plastics?

I need some to make fibreglass race fairings from.

Nice . I liked the look of the White. Do you paint them yourself?

No for the white, yes for the stealth version.

Not that hard, in fact, just a pain in the ass if you have to sand, but painting is quite fun actually.

Yes, it's a lot of work in the preparation, but worth putting in to get a good result.
