noisy tappits

when i first got my 1000 v rap i was concerned the tappits/ valve clearances were a bit noisy. had just got off a jap staight four.mechanic assured me that tl1000 engines had a large valve clearance compared to what i was used to so would sound noisy compared. also that having only done 4200 miles was ok til atleast 11k. the thing is it stays on your mind and find myself driving along listening to them. anyone have any comments.done 9k now

Mine's still noisy after 52K so I shouldn't worry about it Ozzy, it's just part of the character - something they do - the TL1000 does it as well
