Re: Bike not running properly again.
Only reason my bike runs on 1 cylinder is because there's water in the fuel, or the front spark plug drain is blocked. Take your key guard off, undo the 2 allen key bolts underneath and tilt your tank up to almost vertical(good idea to do when you haven't got much fuel in the tank). You'll see a hos...

Re: Indicator Relay Gremlins
I was thinking after I posted, does flasher unit translated from Aussie to English mean relay :haha: If your bike starts alright it's not your battery, LED's use a lot less electrical power than your standard indicators. The thing with a bike's charging system, is that the voltage output of it incre...

Re: Indicator Relay Gremlins
Have you replaced the original flasher unit with an LED one? It sounds like when you increase the revs the indicators are actually flashing that fast that they look like they're constantly on.

Re: Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
G'day Shed.....I've just used the good ol' home built loop of tubing with 2 stroke oil. There's definately an issue there as I had a backfire today on the over run at high revs. I've cleaned the tank out but there was originally a lot of gunk in the float bowls and on last inspection they looked cle...

Re: Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
The cough has always been there, even with new plugs. Already found out about the drowned front spark plug too. The rubber diaphram is one thing I thought might be the issue. When I balanced the carbs one would rise up and then go down and the other would rise up. Is that normal, or any ideas what m...

Re: Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
I decided just to replace the lower carby hose clamps and see if that was the problem, and I don't think it is, will check for certain on the commute to work tomorrow. Haven't had problems with fuel consumption, getting about 350 kilometres to a tank of fuel, and have done about 650 km in a day, and...

Re: Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
I'll definately be getting Suzuki parts mate, Cagiva in Australia keep no parts in stock, everything has to be shipped in with the standard 6 to 8 week wait. I have had the bowls off on the side of the road when I used to have the blocked tank overflow and the water was seeping into the tank and I w...

Re: Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
The little bung in the front vacuum port hose had fallen out, so now's it back to the cough just off idle, so I need to get it sorted. Will go through the parts list and dismantle the carbs and see what bits I need to replace, got a shop on the hunt for a kit, but they don't think they can get them ...

Re: Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
just have to be careful when welding things up and grinding them off, don't know if you noticed Pod, I am a boilermaker/welder by trade, I specialised in Aluminium Fatigue Maintenance, and I know welds on ali then ground off stands out, but I'm not too conservant with stainless though, have fabbed a...

Re: Bike not running properly
This is what you need (top left picture).

From a quick visual of the hole in my tank, I'm guessing you need a 8mm thread. I'll dig the original one out next week, I think I know where I put it, but moving house at the moment.

Re: Bike not running properly
I was just thinking if you could replace that fitting with something made of plastic that you could just super glue into the hole(once you've got the original fitting out), and attach a pipe to it, it would certainly stop it from clogging up with corrosion. I think a specialist plumbing shop might h...

Engine Modifications done by Cagiva
Hey all!!! Can anyone give me the specifics of what Cagiva does to the SV650 engine to get the extra horsepower out of it? I want to modify my engine but don't want to undo anything Cagiva has already done! I have a carby model and all I know is that there have been intake and exhaust mods done, but...

Re: Bike not running properly
If the drain is spinning then the thread has stripped, the thread is only plastic anyway, after mine blocked up twice (and left me standed one too many times) I just removed it completely and just make sure I don't overfill the tank.
