Re: Rear Axle Nut

Hi mate, if you can't find a genuine nut, maybe an RSV1000 nut might fit. When an Aprilia rear end swap is done, the bearings in the Cagiva wheel/hub are still Cagiva which means the axles are the same diameter. If the thread pitch is the same you might have a chance. It's worth a try. Or, measure t...

Re: Clutch cable

Hi mate,
forget cable, go hydraulic.
It's cheap, easy to do and you won't have to worry about it again :happyhappy:

Cheers

Re: Cagiva/Aprilia suspension triangles

Thanks again for every ones’ input, I rode the bike to MotoGp (4000k round trip) and it was a lot better with the extra weight on it, but still not great with just my bulk on it!! I think I’m still gonna have a crack at re-engineering the rear end in the future. I’ll fabricate/machine a jig to repli...

Re: Cagiva/Aprilia suspension triangles

Thanks for your input, Mine were all stuffed as well, so I’ve replaced all the bearings in the suspension and the swingarm. However, the bearing supplier couldn’t get bushes for the dog bone. They must be a weird Cagiva size (I think the length was the problem) so I’ll see if they are still availabl...

Cagiva/Aprilia suspension triangles

G'day everyone, I have finally got my bike back on the road with the GSXR legs and Aprilia rear… yay :D . I’ve also thrown in a Bitubo shock into the mix (which is a nice looking bit of kit) to finish off the suspension. However all nice and rosie this sounds, I have an issue with the rear suspensio...

RSV swingarm issues - need help!

G'day all, I have recently installed an RSV swingarm into my Raptor in a hurried attempt to get to MotoGp at Phillip Island. I have a couple of questions regarding the swap because of a few issues that have come up and need some help. Should the shocky be the same length as the standard sachs? I hav...

Steering head spacer

G'day all, I urgently need your help. Does anyone know if the spacer under the bottom bearing of the steering head can be replaced by a spacer from another make of bike? I kind of made a mess of mine getting the bearing off  (original was stuffed). The OEM parts No. is 8A0065503 and is describ...

Old topic - rear shock sizes

G'day all, I just need clarification on rear shock sizes before I hand over my hard earned cash to get a new one. I was thinking of getting Bitubo or Hagon. From what I understand the shocky lengths eye to eye are as follows (please correct me if I’m wrong) • Raptor = 312mm • V Raptor = 312mm • X Ra...

Re: Looking for grey headlight shrowd and a pair of standard exhaust!

G'day HOBO4,
I have a pair (left & right) of brand new unused OEM pipes if you are interested.
I'm in the land of Oz, so it depends on freight if it is worth your while.
Drop me a line and take it from there.
Cheers

Rear Wave Brake Rotor?

G'day there everyone in Raptor land, I've finally bolted in my RSV1000 swingarm and Tuono shock for a trial fit and only have to machine up some spacers to complete it. So as I was fitting the rear wheel it dawned on me that I still haven't found a rear wave rotor for the Rap. Which bring...

Re: Chain, sprockets & swingarm

G'day there andybaggies, thanks for your input on the chain/sprocket saga, however I've sorted it out ages ago. The following dribble may be of some use to you and other Raptor enthusiasts. I use series 1 Hyabusa rear sprockets (obviously TL/SV/DL for the front). All I did to make them fit was machi...

Re: Raptor radiator screen

G'day all, I have a guard on my radiator and it's made by Rad Guard ( www.radguard.com.au ) . They are located here in Australia (my home town actually) and make guards for tons of bikes. Raptor guards may have to be made to order, however they do make them, so I guess you would need to contact them...

Re: Battery Needed Rappy 1000

G'day,
I just thought I'd put my two bobs worth in on the subject.
Crap Tartan is correct.
If it's a quality battery you want (forget cheap the crap) buy a Yuasa YTX9-BS.
They are a sealed unit & have excellent cranking power that a big twin needs.

Re: Engine genuine HT paint

I made some research this week end, and it seems the correct color is a matt RAL 7048 (Pearl Mouse Grey) I found a french website (spriod.fr) that can realise HT paint with specific RAL, for less than 20€ per can. I 'm now waiting for their answer, and continue my cleaning! G'day Gilbert, Is it a S...
