TPS and throttle body synch might help too.
edit: i set the idle at around 1500...much easier slow trafic manners.

Re: That Summer feeling
that's strange snap,
i live about 100 miles from england, and i've had 6 months of bliss...sunshine sunshine sunshine!
best summer since i was born.
the ktm has 10.000kms in 3 months, and i've been in the rain for less than 1 minute.
i'm sorry

Re: Carb heaters
indeed.
carb icing on the esvee is only 'cured' with additives...or drawing in hot air instead of freezing air (but how?).
forget about the carb heaters, they don't do anything.
cheers, jan

Re: Performance upgrades
bfef: raptor 1000's don't have a slipper clutch, but they do have a back torque limiter thingie which sorta gives the same results. the pressure in the clutch pack is modulated by a sort of cam, and works by the amount of throttle you give it (or the amount of shut-throttle): the pressure increases ...

Re: whats your milage ???
bought the bike 4 years ago. it was a 2001 with 23.000 miles. now at + 100.000kms. still going VERY strong. i just rode a superduke today as a replacement bike for my supermoto, and the rap still feels as powerful as the superduke. a lot smoother too...low rev running still is fantastic on the rap. ...

Re: 2000 W reg Raptor 1000 - Starter Relay
i bet TL1000 starter relays are exactly the same. Check on ebay, there should be some on there.
if you want a quick fix: you can swap turnsignal relay with starter relay if i remember correctly. They're the same i think.

Re: tlr motor??
oh and by the way, the TLS engine character is much nicer than the TLR
the TLR has more ponies yes, but hasn't got the kick in your balls surge at 6000 RPM. it's more linear. Doesn't really suit the raptor IMO.

Re: tlr motor??
you will indeed only have the TLR power if you have: (in order of importance) - TLR engine - TLR throttle bodies, TLR wiring loom, TLR ECU - TLR airbox - TLR exhaust in the raptor you can physically mount a TLR engine, but you will have problems getting more power out of it, because you will not be ...

Re: Raptor 1000 Left Engine cover center nut oil leak
i'm using a special kind of stuff as well. it's the only way to get the clutch cover sealed (in my case).
Helps to seal that generator bolt as well, because that too is a source of many leaks!
it's blue, and it's some kind of liquid gasket goo. forgot the brand name though

coil lifespan...
...seems to be around 100.000 km  the front coil anyway. The rear coil hasn't got such a hard life. my rappie was running progressively worse lately: - first a couple of stumbles every now and then - more stumbles and one cylinder running now and then - hiccups throughout the rev range, little ...

Re: Forks DIY?
hi magnum, i've replaced the fork seals on my forks myself, and i found it to be quite easy. Didn't expect it. Just take it slowly ;) You need no special tools, no fork compressor etc... all the explanation is in the manual. the hardest part is choosing the best fork oil, and getting the right amoun...

oi Magnum,
a whole TLR setup from lever to rod (so 100% complete) can be had for about 70 EUR...100 EUR maximum.
a slave should not be more than 25 EUR i reckon...
cheers,
jan
