Re: Vehicle safety switch

Ok these should be pretty simple to make so I have ordered these. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/322897392207 I will pick up a bag of 10 diodes from jaycar and make them all up, when I'm done there will be 4 spares for whoever needs one. Update: Ordered 12 diodes, total cost in parts is now a princely ...

Re: The rusty work hoss.

yes I kept my Front Wheel and Rotors, and used the GSXR600 K4 Forks, axle, Fender plus master Cyclinder and Calipers.

Very Similiar to El Vikingos

Re: The rusty work hoss.

I recently replaced my forks with GSXR600 ones, it is a pretty simple job once you work out the spacers, but also requires a spindle and calipers.

Your welcome to my original forks if you want them, one has a blown seal though. Also you would need to work out postage from Canberra Australia.

Re: Vehicle safety switch

Subbed!, mine too is burnt quite badly, I have had to cable tie it in one particular position to stop the neutral light coming on all the time.

I know of a 650 for sale down the south coast simply because the guy gave up trying to source this.

Re: Fork Swap

It looks stunning! Just a question, why or for what do you need it to be revalved? Whoever owned the forks must have had them setup for a track bike, as it is way too firm for general road riding and my 75 kg of weight. I will get lighter springs fitted and if need be revalved to suit while it is i...

Re: Fork Swap

Bit closer to finished today, guard painted and bolted up, new brake lever and EBC HH pads fitted.

Just need to get some new brake lines made, and then Springs/reValved. :revrev:

Re: Fork Swap

They are GSXR600 K4 forks, I think the brakes are actually K3, as the EBC catalog quite clearly shows K3 having 4 pads per caliper like mine do, and the K4 only having 2, guess I will know once the new ones arrive. The axle was supposed to be off a 1000 K4, but is also fishy, given we had to put bot...

Re: Fork Swap

Thanks for that, I am going to ask the place that is making the rotors to make the new axle nut and spacer as well.

My friend has a hoist and some spare time on Sunday so here's hoping the shop can get these done for the weekend and it might all come together!

Hey nice of you to realise I live downunder and post pictures I can read properly! :haha:

Good looking bike too, do you think it's up on horsepower a bit with the higher compression?

Re: Fork Swap

With many thanks to Boofhead for the drawings I have organised a machine shop to knock up the rotor spacers.

Now thinking about the 2x3mm spacers I will need for the axle, I have a spare GSXR Bush/Axle nut that the axle goes inside of, maybe I could just get them cut from that?

Re: 650ie tank removal

Yes sorry, have seen a few posts about fitting shocks from the top now, having just fitted one from the bottom maybe the 1000 is a bit different.

Re: 650ie tank removal

Also the correct answer was why are you removing the tank to fit a shock!
