Thanks for all your input. I do see (or feel) the need for raising the back a bit, but one of the things which appealed about the raptor was it's low seat height, as I'm built with a low seat height myself. I love being able to get both feet down at traffic lights. However it tends to lumber a bit r...

Sus-p-p-p-pension
Took the thou out for its first proper ride around the local B-roads yesterday. Everything working fine until we hit a badly surfaced patch at speed at which point the Raptor did its best to throw me out of the seat and throw my hands off the bars, which was possibly a little too much fun. Coming ba...

 I'll, er, run it at 1500. Thanks for everyone's help. I'm really a jealous. I live in London, so a 4k clear run would mean an entourage of police helicopters, or filtering beyond the ability of even the Ghostrider. (thinks) I have a 10km commute which contains 15 traffic lights, 4 roundabouts...

They're being unreasonable in a reasonable enough fashion at the moment (their preferred solution was that I push the bike 100 yards to the end of the street before starting. I gave that one one of Paddington's hardest stares.) , so I'm not expecting a visit from the council, and the bike's parked o...

Complaints from neighbours: road legal cans for 1000
I've had my Raptor for two weeks now and I've just managed to get a sternly worded complaint from one of my neighbours about the noise she makes while warming up. The current cans are Lasers. Any recommendations for fruity sounding but quieter cans? I had some remus revolutions on the SV (not that I...

Didn't have a Bowmore, so I got you Highland Piper. It's the same thing isn't it?
The only things I upgraded on the SV in three years of ownership were the tyres and the pipes. Didn't seem much point to go overboard on what's basically the Escort of bikes. The Cagiva, however, is a different matter.

Hi All
Beers and chasers?
As of Saturday I'm a new Raptor 1000 owner. (I'm the new bit, the Raptor is 5 years old). I traded up from an SV650: what a difference 350cc and Brembos make!
