Re: How fast has your Raptor been?
Reckon I've had mine up to 120 ish a couple of times. I scare easily and don't often go over 100 mph. A friend with a CBR600 was following me once and marvelled at the way he was doing 120 mph and I was pulling away from him... going round a corner! (well, a bend anyway). There's no way that I was d...

Re: Raptor Chapter Annual Meet
Really nice pics, cheers. You saw much more than me. I don't move round too much when it's hot and spent most of the afternoon panned out on the grass and I've got a bright red face to prove it! In your first group of photos there is a picture of CTs bike - about the 7th pic down I think - with a BM...

Re: Old Review
I concur.
Might do a review of my own at some point. I'm a bit past the 'first impressions' stage but I still like it now for all the reasons that I did back then.

Re: EYEBALL (changed title)
Saw a silver Raptor in Langholm just North of the border this Sunday, mid-afternoon sometime. I wasn't on my Rap, so didn't wave (though I did nod). I was at the side of the road doing a map-check when it came past with some other racey bikes. A few minutes later, I saw it parked outside a cafe in t...

Excellent stuff.
It's nice to think that mine could do that mileage. But loads better to know that it can!
Don't know if I could, mind.

Another Red Raptor. You're in good company! (I've got one too).
Wish I could ride mine in France.

I think that there are a few of us in this corner of Blighty. Sadly, we rarely seem to see each other. Just a virtual pint of lager for the time being then.

Re: Buell and Italian Motorcycle Festival 2014
Unlikely that I will be able to get down this year. The Raptor is still off the road - though I have nearly finished putting it back together. Still need to get a couple of bits fot it and tax & MOT. Unfortunately I'm skint at the moment so I don't reckon it will be ready in time. May still go o...

Re: wtf???????
I remember when Honda used the name 'Dominator' for their trailie bike. Cheeky as hell, but there was no way that Norton were in a position to take on Honda over it. Wonder what would happen if Norton brought out a bike called the 'Fireblade'?

Can't imagine that Cagiva sold the name. Reckon that this outfit just used the name and Cagiva are in no state to contest it. Or worse still, they can't be bothered.snapdragon wrote:55 years agowhoever owns Cagiva must have sold the name I guess - I did want one but on reading up about them they're sadly very low powered

Re: New to Raptors
40 mpg seems a bit heavy, unless of course you're bouncing the needle off the redline in all the gears! I get about 45 mpg without trying too hard. Can get close to 55 mpg if I'm trying very hard indeed. Only drop down to about 40 mpg if I'm revving through the lower gears a lot which I do occasiona...

Re: Proposed Motorway Speed Restrictions
Given that the last bout of severe air pollution that we had was the result of lots of bad air being blown over from the continent and the Sahara, then what will this acheive exactly? ....and given that the average speed on the M6 north of Brum is about 23 mph, what is the point of introducing a 60 ...
