Re: Bike not running properly again.
Ok eventually had time to have a proper look at the bike. I tried new plugs first but to no avail. I have checked the resistance of the coils, leads and pulse generator coil and all are in order. I decided it must be a problem with the carbs and removed them. I've had a quick look at them and there ...

Bike not running properly again.
I thought I had sorted the bad running putting it down to fuel as I after I had drained the tank and carbs and put some fresh fuel in it seemed to be running fine. Done about 180 Miles on Sunday no problem and then for the last 20 Miles or so it started to run rough again. I'm not sure if it's mecha...

Re: Painting seat panels.
Ok thanks. I was thinking about leaving them dimpled but not sure what it would look like. Would it not take ages to fill the dimples with filler primer?
I was wondering about leaving them unpainted as I'm painting the wheels as well but not sure.

Painting seat panels.
I'm thinking about painting my bike and was wondering if anyone has had any success in painting the seat panels?
I think it would look a lot better with them painted as well.

Re: New member from Scotland
I'm on the A701 (The Moffat road) about 5 Miles South of Broughton.
I see you're in Hawick so not to far away and I'm often over that way on the A7.

Re: Bike not running properly
Yeah I've had the tank off and run a drill up the nipple the problem is I don't know how far to go and I'm scared of drilling into the tank.

Re: Bike not running properly
Okay I think I've sorted the problem. :D Took the tank off and drained it completely and drained the carbs again. When I lifted the petrol cap the filler neck was full of water and it went into the tank because the drain is completely blocked. I tried to unscrew the tank drain but it wouldn't come o...

Re: Bike not running properly
Not sure if the 650 has a tank drain problem. It was like the bike was running out of fuel i.e. it wouldn't accelerate and was losing power and sounded like it was missing. To me it felt either the plugs or coil were breaking down but could just as easily be a carb problem. I was thinking of moistur...

Bike not running properly
Well picked up my bike today and rode it 150 Miles home. It run fine for the first 120 Miles but started to lose power and was missing. I presumed that the fuel light wasn't working and I was running out of fuel and stopped for fuel. It was still the same after that. I have drained both carbs and ch...

Re: New member from Scotland
Welcome norrie, seems to be more Buell riders discovering the raptor these days. You would know me better as Howard, att`s brother.I think a mass raptor meet may be in order up north this year seeing as they seem to be breeding round these parts. What and you admit to being Att's brother. Yeah...
