Post by sidrat »

So nothing wrong with the tank when it is on the bike.

Underneath is a differnent story, so flowliner has been delivered and blanks made.

Mine has a few bubbles on the visible tank surface, so will be interested in how you get on with the fix.

Some say it's water vapour seeping through the plastic, which comes out of water saturated ethanol in the fuel?

I think the ethenol eats through the tank.

Its not as easy to do as the instructions say, the raptor tank is a convoluted shape, i eventually unplugged the pump housing end and used a brush to get to some of the parts it didn't reach. Its now sitting for a week. I will take a photo of the inside before i reassemble.

I also guess it will now hold 1/2 a litre less fuel!!

Thanks, probably won't do mine until next year, so you can be the trailblazer :)

No fuel pump housing on mine, so could be even more difficult.

I think the 650s are gravity fed carburetors? That's my uneducated guess anyway.
