Time for a new Helmet

Post by HiFi »

Hi all, enjoying the sun? It's high time I bought a new helmet, the trusty old Caberg is now ten years old (blimey, how did that happen) wondered what people think.

I really like the look of these Reevu helmets with the rear view lens:

Any experience of them? Reviews look good but there aren't any about in the shops to try on. And they don't have a drop down sunglasses visor behind the main visor. But the mirrors on the Rappy are hopeless (or is it that I'm too fat)!?

Any others worth trying? Bell helmets seem to fit really comfortably but they are quite £££ budget is about £300 tops.

Cheers!

Flip front that you can ride with open (like stuck in traffic or queuing for entrance to a rally or getting fuel ) and a sun visor, this is my 2nd shark and i love it xx

Don't know anything about the Reevus but the one thing I learned when writing-off my Firestorm was that what's going on behind you isn't nearly as important as the shit that's up ahead, so please benefit from my hard-learned lesson!

I'm in the market for a new one myself and as I've an Arai-shaped head this one was at the top of my list, just beautiful. I'm fed up of how visible stone chips are on single-colour helmets and as I mostly play chasey on the weekend they'll be less visible on a patterned one.

(Is it just me or is the post a youtube link thingo not working any more?)

But now I think I like Sheb's Shark, I believe they're pretty quiet?

Difficult to define quiet .. it’s definitely quieter than the roof lids i used to use! It is noisy with the visor up ... it whistles a bit. But i have ridden harleys with openish pipes for years so i am probably not the person to ask!
