Post by gilbert666 »

Hi guys

I currently trying to remove the right cover of my raptor 1000 engine, and I can't do it because the water pump rotor (part n°2, see below) is resisting to me, how dare it!??
I don't want to go to strong on it, i fear to damage it!

Is there a special tricks to remove it ?

Succeed!!

I use two flat screw drivers, put them on each side of the impeller, and pull. I find too late that a lot of smooth and gentle pulling are better than a big and rough pulling.
I break it, but I remove it quite easily.
It will be easier ext time!

Time to order a new one now.....

What was the reason for removing the impeller? Had it or the seals etc failed?

If only.....

I had to remove it to paint the carter.
I don't want to paint it on the bike, and to remove it, I find out that I have to remove the impeller  ........
I now understand why they made a specific cover for the clutch....
