Hi from Canberra

Post by Trevor68 »

Howdy, thought I best say hello before all the noobie questions begin.

Picked up my Raptor 1000 on tuesday, 52,000k's young and going strong.

First job is to straighten the rear brake lever and see why the rear brake light is not activating so I can register her.

Welcome indeed, and it's good to see you're keeping your new machine undercover and out of the rain! Oh wait; does it rain in Canberra?

I bet it's the rear brake light bulb strip connectors. They corrode, lose their springiness and the connectors also become sloppy. Just give them a tickle clean and tighten & you should be fine

I've always had trouble with these and ended up having to buy a complete new light.

Enjoy :ride:

It is the wire from the rear banjo switch, I soldered a new bit in the middle, then replaced the blade connectors, but in the end it still defeated me as one of the connectors in the white plug is also dodge.

Will need to go to supercheap and see what connectors they have on the weekend.
