lets go dutch

Post by bearenz »

Hi all, long time raptor owner, when I feel the need to brag I call myself an MV-Agusta owner...
My raptor is a 2006 650ie and it had been parked up to 2012 by my Italian brother in law who left the country to become mine and since then has seen the road occasionally to come to almost 8.000km in all of the 14 years.
Removing the tank is what brought me to this site and I will try again now that I have seen some managed to remove it.

Welcome too!

Yes, it's a pain to get the 650ie tank off until you find where the bolts are. Hopefully, you saw the pic I posted. Probably because the tank swells, the clearance for the rubber cover closes up and nothing seems to give. Definitely worth trimming the rubber before you replace it because the tank won't ever shrink back.

Thanks Shebee and Nick,

Your pick is the one that showed me it is possible to remove the tank, we got the same colour!

Will try it shortly as we are not going anywhere over here in NL for the coming weeks, or months..
