Gearbox

Post by Algernon »

Hi all. Do I need to remove the TLS engine from my Raptor to enable me to pull the entire gearbox apart?

Thanks.

Are you sure you have a TLS motor?

Either way, its a bench job.

Cheers Miz.
I'm going to take a look at the engine number tomorrow if I can find it and identify exactly what lump is in it.
The weekend's here and I'll get a chance to do some stuff. Morning's reserved for workbench fabrication.
Nice mix of metric and imperial.

The engine number begins with T501 so it appears to be a TLS motor.
Workbench will hopefully be in service within a fortnight and then the real work starts.

My engine number also starts with T501 but it's got Cagiva stamped in big letters on the brake side cover...

Get yourself a copy of the workshop manual, it's pure gold. If you can't download it from the links on here then PM me your email address, it's about 350 MB IIRC.

Hi
its my understanding that the motor is a TL with some clutch and other internals from the TLR, cagiva have their own inlet stubs, as the throttle bodies are in a different angle and position than the suzuki parts, they use a different black box...remapped for midrange, hence the different final gear ratio's.
TLmonkey will know the details....lol
