Need help! - Raptor 1000 restoration

Post by RaptorIrl »

Hi folks,
I'm working on restoring a raptor that was in pretty bad condition.

Trying to find parts is a nightmare! 🤣 lots of cosmetic bits and pieces to find including the footrest pieces and the seat.

The engine, cooling system and brakes have all been sorted. I'm working on the suspension and electrics now but one thing is worrying me, the rear spring is fouling/rubbing on the swingarm.

Any tips, tricks or parts links would be mightily appreciated 👍👍

Have a read of this post I did about finding parts http://www.raptorchapter.org.uk/viewtop ... =11&t=5010.
Regarding the swingarm, can you post some pics of where it is rubbing on the spring. The needle bearings in the tension arm (Item 44 on page 114 of the parts list) at the bottom of the shock seem to go to pieces, your's may of completely disintegrated and elongated the holes. The bearing size is in the parts list, I just went to a bearing shop and got new ones.
