X-Rap Steering Damper For Sale

Post by HiFi »

I don't really get on with the steering damper on my X-Rap so I took it off this weekend, thought I'd see if anyone here fancies buying it. There are a couple of caveats though as it seems that the previous owner may have messed around with it a bit.

Basically, it looks like the clamps around the forks were over tightened and it's broken the aluminium hinges as can be seen here:

Also, one of the bolts is the wrong one. All the correct parts can be found at OEMMOTORPARTS here:

You'll need items 2, 3 and 6 to make it perfect unless you can fix it somehow. The good news is that it comes with the rare and lesser spotted plastic trim! Let me know if you're interested and we can talk about price :D

That's a strange bit of kit to put on the bike, I reckon. The steering geometry of the Raptors isn't that radical to need taming, so maybe it was just an embellishment aimed at those riders inclined to pop wheelies? I guess it looks cool though

Ooo, I dunno though... I had a tank slapper whilst bimbling along after going over a manhole cover that spat me off and broke me collar bone.

I put it down to suspension that had been buggered around with, top shim blocks had been put in upside down an part worn sticky tyres.

And this was enough for me to fit a damper if my own...

Would you sell the trim separately?
Cheers,
