Hello fellas!

I’m the happy owner of a yellow 04’ 650 Raptor, picked it up from a lady friend who no longer used it for a screaming deal. Never heard of these bikes before, just saw that it resemble my 93’ M900...what’s not to like! Really playful and fun engine, I’m hooked.

A few rusty bolts, cracked seat cover, slick tires and cosmetic bits to change otherwise a fine specimen

Looking for replacement exhaust (probably Mivv) and getting new set of tires on Monday: Pirelli DR3

Lots of sun and twisty roads around Nice.
If any fellow riders, give a shout!

Cheers and thanks for this forum.

Welcome indeed! The 650 is a lot of fun, with a very eager motor that spins up nicely through the gears. Given the availability of the 1000cc versions, I could never see the point of the 650 until I got one for the Missus, but now realise it has a delightful character all of its own.

As with all Raptors that have been around, do check the shock linkage bearings. My 650 was completely solid with rust when I got it, but maybe the French climate is a little drier than the UK?

Cheers,

Nick

Cheers everyone, thanks for the welcomes.

My rear suspension is performing well, must be the weather and the Sun King of Corsica, the bike spent some years there.

And the Monsters up to the S4RS are a thing of beauty. Love them inside n out :ride:

Take it easy up North

Well, it's 'fess-up time: I've never got on with Monsters despite being a Ducati enthusiast. I had an exquisite M750 dripping with carbon but it was too manic and the suspension never suited me despite much expenditure. This time last year, I got an immaculate S4R, and it never matched my expectations of being a naked ST4s so it too departed. I'm a bad person I'm sure. Galluzi's Raptors are a different story though!

Believe me, I make them fit as much as I can, but sometimes we just don't agree on what we like to do together, especially on the roads around me and the empathic link just doesn't establish, so it's best to part ways. :( There are plenty of two-wheeled fish in the sea!
