cans which to choose
ok i think ive found a v raptor now it has standard cans on it any ideas on which are the loudest the bigger the bark the better cheers paul
Motad Venoms and there is a set on sale on this site or alternatively ther are also a pair on ebay. Stainless look the biz and very loud particularly if you take out the db killers. I have carbon can co db killers in my venoms so they only take the edge of the noise leaving it still quite loud.

Was seriously tempted to go for Quills myself, as I heard an SV650 roar past with one on, and almost wet myself. However, when I spoke to Quill they said they would need to borrow the bike to make the template for the link pipes. Fine, but they said that would take 2 weeks! Mind you, I guess now you've had some made booah, they won't need to do that anymore.
I only have a baby raptor (650ie), so my options are more limited, but currently looking at GPR's from Italy. They offer carbon look exhausts, with removable baffles, at a reasonable price. They are also high level pipes, which would really show off the RSV swingarm (if/when I get it fitted).
G&G also do high level, and there were some people trying to get together for a group buy option (see other posts).

For me the sound is more important than the look of the pipes. This is very subjective and matter of individual taste.
One thing that I think would really help potential buyers decude is being able to see, and crucially hear, what each set of pipes sound like on your bike. Would those kind peeps out there who've already fitted aftermarket cans be able to record what their conversions sound like and post them? I could probably host the files on one of the servers here. For those of you with more visual leanings, imageshack or similar could host photographs. And there's always YouTube if amyone wants to kill both birds with one stone.
Brainwave or Brainfade?

I have Quill carbon ovals on mine, shortened to 380mm. Baffles in they sound excellent, Baffles out...LOUD...they also give a healthy boost to the mid range, and weigh considerably less than the standard cans.
By the way, if anyone is after a set of original carbon fibre cans off an Extra Rap' (Engraved "Xtra Raptor" into the Carbon), I have two sets sat in the garage !!!! one new set, one used set off my bike....
I would recommend, and have done, the Quills

It really is worth changing the cans on a V Raptor one of those standard cans weighs more than both of my Venoms put together ....seriously heavy weight that carbon is purely for show.
It's all a matter of taste at the end of the day.
Twistedpr's idea of sound recordings is a great one and I'll try and do it this weekend.....testing ....testing 123 standby
Cheers si

Paul,
I have stainless Oval Carbon Can Co cans and link pipes of the rtace variety.
Got em of ebay and they were hardley used. Had to buy the baffles myself as they were far to loud for 7am starts when i ride into work.
Will see if i can get some video and get it put up on here, need to drill the rivets out first on the baffles and get some bolts sorted.
