Carb heaters

Post by SW »

Hi

I have a European 650 (51 reg) which came without the carb heaters. Have sourced and fitted the heaters & sensor okay(from an SV650) BUT I am struggling to find where the electrics should be plugged in to on the main loom.

The SV650 wiring diagram shows them connected in via the thermostate for the radiator but on my wiring loom there is no spare connector on that part of the loom.

Any ideas - can someone send me a picture showing the relevant connection otherwise I will have to try and break into the loom.

Tks - Steve

My bike has them, but, they dont prevent icing, heating the fuel in the float bowl has little or no effect on the icing which takes place in the inlet venturi and sticks the slide. Ive had better results with additives like Pro FST which you just pour in the tank.
I will have a look at where they are wired in , but honestly its not worth the bother.Pod
Stay calm.

indeed.

carb icing on the esvee is only 'cured' with additives...or drawing in hot air instead of freezing air (but how?).

forget about the carb heaters, they don't do anything.

cheers, jan
