Hot, or not?

Post by Spyke »

Although I can't imagine swapping out my Raptor for anything else that's widely available at the moment, I do like to do a bit of window-shopping, as it were.

The latest releases from Italy and Japan don't really float my boat, IMHO the Germans (BMW), Austrians (KTM), and a very few Americans (Ronin 47) seem to have more to offer those of us who like a little "something different" to ride.

The latest thing to catch my eye is the Hero Hastur, from the Indian(!) company Hero, who apparently sell over 6,000,000 bikes annually and own nearly 50% of Erik Buell Racing.

I could actually see myself ditching my baby Monster in favour of a dinky little 620 parallel twin, at under 160kg wet and with a 30.7" seat height she just might be the perfect stylish commuter.

So what do you lot reckon?

I like it but the motor for me should be a sv650 twin at least :D

If they're selling over 6 million bikes a year to the Indian market you'd expect them to have any reliability issues well sorted, but in all honesty I've never heard of them till this week. My internet research shows that they're closely involved with/sponsor the EBR team in World Superbike but I've lost track of WSBK since moving to the Colonies and finding motorsport coverage here to be utterly pathetic.

Yeah we all seem to agree on that, should my lottery ticket come up then it would be an interesting project trying to shoehorn an SV650 motor into a Hastur!

Sad to see the demise of EBR again, found this article quite interesting https://rideapart.com/articles/erik-bue ... een-coming

I liked the way Buell tried to bring something new to business.

ImageImage These Buell's were on show a couple of year ago at the Raptor meet East Kirkby air field . Think they were 15k or more for the road bike .

Nice looking bikes, not so nice price.

I'm still waiting to see any credible evidence to support orange side reflectors being a "must have" for new road bikes. Thankfully I'm not holding my breath.
