I've tried various settings and I found out that the best is about 3cm when on sidestand.
Manual mentions 2,5cms when the bike is with no weight

Re: How much chain slack ?? first bike
Beware of doing chain on padock stands, no preload on the shocks. I normally do it on the sidestand. To oil chain find a helper to push the bike forward whilst you spray lube on the chain, or do what you can see, push it forward a bit and repeat until all done. If you have the rear wheel in the air you can do it by hand.. suggest NOT running the engine and putting it in gear to turn the wheel, NHS has enough to do at the moment without having to sew your fingers back on!

Re: How much chain slack ?? first bike
I have been adjusting chains for donkeys years from my first BSA at 15!
This video is fairly clear if he does waffle! https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/n ... adjustment
Do you have the owners manual? As there are destructions there as well. I no longer have my rap so the manual went with the bike... do a search on here for a download version?
Good luck and make sure 1. You adjust both sides by the same amount and 2. Check the wheel axle is tight especially if you have been distracted by tea/partner/squirrel at any point!
