I have decided that as an upholsterer I make a pretty good IT guy.
Still my $20 staple gun from Bunnings did eventually get it on there, so about $250AUD spent all up including the foam from clarks rubber.

Well done! I wouldn't have attempted that; several of my seats have been modified by professionals and the result is usually an improvement. Were you looking for more comfort, or just a higher riding position? Or both?

Both plus the original cover had started to crack. There is a highly regarded seat builder only an hour from here, maybe too highly as he is booked out for six months.
So decided to have a go and quite pleased with how it turned out.

Looks good for a first go! Have done several over the years mostly to make things shorter … i think it was the navigator one that beat me for a while as we didn’t have a powerful enough stapler … we do now!

It still surprises me just how low these bikes were. I have lengthened the shock by 3mm, raised the seat by 10, and yet with my measly 5"8 frame can still get both feet firmly flat on the ground!
