V Raptor 1000 back on the road

Post by lingo »

After 4 years of renovating my house and fitting time for the bike in, it`s back on the road. Quite a lot of work done to it (maybe not to everyone`s taste ) new mot and 3600mls approx on the clock as original clock was in KMs. Lots of powder coating, new discs, exhausts, chain sprocket, Ducati headlight, SV 1000 belly pan, new tyres, motorgadget speedo, swing arm braced, and on and on..........I will be selling it hopefully soon.....madness I know but it would be a shame for it to be left in the garage and not used....

Well done for completing your project but it's a pity if you don't get the pleasure of riding it, given it's been a success.

I'm surprised to say I like the headlight, having always favoured the good ol' fashioned round jobbie on mine. What model of Ducati is it from, and did you need to make many changes to fit it?

Headlight is from a 2014 ducati monster, I had some brackets made when the swing arm was being braced at a local fabricators. I sourced some headlight fitting bars of a raptor 650ie, I cut the speedo bracket off the ducati headlight frame so the motorgadget speedo would sit over the top of the headlight, I then had everything powder coated.
with the amount of money spent and initial cost of the bike someone would have to make a good offer to buy it....but if someone see`s it and appreciate`s what work has been done, you never know....
