can you convert a raptor to a v-raptor?
just a quick question. how easy would it be to convert a raptor to a v-raptor?
would it just be a case other removing the headlight and sticking on the fairing?
just on the off chance of me finding the front top half from a red v-raptor (unlikely but you never know)

Lets see if i can write this without laughing Miz,Miz wrote:55 years agoHiya,
Don't forget the 'horns' and the ignition surround is different too I think.
Miz.
Yes i also have the horn. to go with it
Sorry i tried(sp)
Tanks are the same, but good point though.RaptorMan wrote:55 years agoBetter check out if there is a difference in the tank.
I don`t think there is but best to check
Dont think the italians would have spent more moey getting different tanks made,i mean have ya seen an x-raptor tank when paint gets chipped.
My new one has red paint underneath the grey paint, which to me mean's that thy must have had alot of spare red tanks when they decided to do the x-raptor and to save money they just painted over them.
last year, i have mounted the 650 round headlight setup from the belgian rap 650 i had for passing my english V-rap 1000 through vehicle inspection.
switching the front was easy peasy, both ways. the forks and upper side of the tank, are identical, even between 650 and 1000's. like what is said above, you gotta change the bracket too. clocks are identical (naked/V and also 650 and 1000).
so, at one time i had a V-rap 650 and a naked rap 1000.
ofcourse, after inspection, i just mounted the english headlight unit right back , and never looked back
ooh, i just found a piccie from then:

Mine looks like a raptor but is officially a V Raptor , Raptordoc (of this forum until he went retro and moved to Portugal) exchanged the front ends while both bikes were still in the shop, the seat pod was the only bit that caused bother, having no lugs to fit it on the Normale frame .
sorry rambling again - I reckon if you can find someone who wants to swap front ends (with the aid of the workshop manual) all should be well
