Broken wrist

Post by Demonbaker »

Took the x rap out for a spin with a couple of mates yesterday evening, well to cut a long story short one of the guys Harley wouldn’t start after brief stop at a pub, so we tried to bump start it. After three attempts the thing fires up and flies of down the road leaving me stumbling to get my balance, well gravity won and I hit the road hands first. So after an extremely painful ride home I get a lift to A & E and two hours later my left wrist is plastered due to a broken scaphoid.
So that’s at least four weeks off the bike and I will have to phone customers today to cancel pig roasts.

Hard luck, always the good Samaritan! Pity the Summer's here, as well :(
At least you can try to get the rest plastered, while you wait??

Oh dear  ... Sorry to hear that ... hope it heals well... Just athought your company insurance might pay for you to employ a driver to do the hog roasts... certainly worth an ask?

Mrs Adam is a head of dept at our local Orthopaedic hospital (and hand surgery specialist). She tells me the Scaphoid is a very nasty bone to break since it has an extremely poor blood supply and can take months to mend. Make sure you look after it and don't go taking liberties with it. Heal well 8)

Ouch! Sounds nasty. Makes me realise how "lucky" I was to get away with nothing broken after my recent off.

Hope your wrist heals faster than my head did mate!

Glad you're healing well. I'm sat here typing one handed with a cast on my left hand making it impossible to type with it :( I ended up having surgery to fix my broken thumb so who knows how long I'll be off the road

keep up with the exercises and happy riding when you're back on the road!
