Folks I'm looking for information on the LATEST 650 raptor
What horse power do they have at the rear wheel?
Whats the dry weight.?
I noticed on the frame front of a 06 there were 2 "lugs" welded on--are these for a frame mounted fairing??

Sorry to jumpin with the heavy questions--I'm currently racing a SV650 but a new class seems to suit the raptor perfectly

Hi Frosty

I have a '06 baby raptor (one day I hope to be sensible enough to get a full blown thou'). Anyway, whereabouts exactly are these lugs, and maybe I can help? A pic would be useful.

Yes mate, '07 650 raptors are fuel injected (think they started doing it in '05/'06) Look for model number 650ie - the "ie" indicating injection.

Regarding those lugs at the front, if you mean the horizontal short (1" inch) 6mm cylinders, spaced about 2" apart on the "point" of the frame, behind the headlight, they serve the very important and sole purpose of sweet FA! The bikini fairing you see on the injected models is attached the headlamp mounting brackets.

AHA--So HP????
as for those cunning lugs--well thats great --They are exactly placed to be the front mount point for a for a race fairing--COOL

Since the motor and injection are SV Id say the HPwould be similar apart from the better breathing rap pipes which do make some difference.
Say 69-72 HP,with an inlet cam in the exhaust you can squeeze out a few more ponies, Ive done it and its very good. .
