Bars

Post by NZraptorgirl »

Can anyone help me here? I need to get the bars back a little as my wife has very short arms, but rotating the bars back lets them hit the tank. Perhaps I need risers as well. Any thoughts?

Cheers

Can anyone measure their bars for me please. The ones on my wife's bike have a 80mm rise, a 110 mm pull back and are 630 mm wide. I just want to see if these are standard.

The missus 650ie 06 bike has;

width 760mm
pull back 100mm
rise 55mm

no reason to think these arent standard

of course it does depend on how you measure!

Thanks for that. Seems yours are quite different from ours. Mind you, we are in the southern hemisphere so are measuring upside down

The Ventura web site shows how to measure bars. We have ordered a set with a higher rise, 105mm and a pull back at 120mm. They are also about 70 mm wider so that may solve the problem. When they are at a comfortable stretch, the instruments hit the tank so hopefully the extra mm's solve that.

Cheers from NZ.

Thanks, tried them but all their risers are for inline bar mounts. The ones on our Raptor are offset, being closer together at the top than the bottom...if you know what I mean. The right angles risers won't fit. Any ideas?

Thanks

These? http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/pr ... K&kw=vario

Good idea, just a bit out of my price range. $NZ300 + inc postage. Probably worth it but will look at a local engineering solution first.

Jota bars

They certainly look different. The bars available here bear no resemblance to what are currently fitted so any input on bar dimensions would be appreciated. That will help me determine if the problem is with the bars fitted or not.

Thanks

from bar end with weight to other end 780mm rise around 50mm- from cr of bars where bolted on to a straight line from end of bars 130mm if you can decipher that

Yup, you've got a big one!

Can you measure the crown? That is the width (outside if possible) of the flat part that bolts to the triple tree. The only bars I can find here are Ventura which are 120mm wide there and ours are way less than that. Looks like we may have some weirdy ones. The extra width of yours will help keep the controls away from the tank whereas ours basically touch when in a good riding position.

My eldest son is at Arana riding a ZX6R. Always keen to ride the coast road.

Cheers
