Grab Rail Naked Raptor 1000

Post by Bfef »

Anybody know of a decent grab rail for a Raptor 1000? The Venture rack is a bit $$$ and I didn't get on with the Hepco and Becker one..! All I need is a grab handle for the missus not a luggage carrier etc.

On this web site it shows one (item 30) anyone tried it?

Otherwise any suggestions gratefully received, many thanks.

having a 650ie and a 1000 rap, the ventura rails/grab handle fits both but the grab handle from the 650 does not fit the 1000.
This is due to the 650 having an extra pair of lugs welded to the subframe between the two sets of fixing points for the ventura rails. The 100 does not have these fitted (at least mine dont!)
The picture from the link looks exactly the same as the 650 grab handle which came as standard.
If the rails were extended by about 100mm then it may be a variant specifically for the 1000 but have never seen one and the dimensions dont look as if they back that up in that picture.
Hope it all makes sense!!

Aye, I'd be happy with one going cheap too for my new V Raptor..
They appear to be mega bucks.

All I want it for is extra parts to bungee luggage on when I go away on long trips.
I only ever fly solo!

I've got the hepco & becker rack, which is ideal for bungeeing stuff too :D and also handy having the top box on when out shopping :D

the plain grab rail used to be available from NWS (who do the carbon huggers) but I just phoned them, and apparently they only do the plastics/carbon stuff now and not the grab rail. They couldn't tell me any more about it unfortunately.
I have the Ventura brackets with a grab rail (and the high rail for heavy duty travelling)

For info I just noticed the Ventura brackets and grabrail adds up to less than the OEM item

Many thanks for the link there, was tired last night and couldn't find I was looking for on that site. Double the price of a Rentec for the SV (especially when you get it second hand off forum  ) but just what I was looking for.

I'm gonna take an angle grinder to my Hepco&Becker and make it fit like a Ventura.
The bottom bolt hole has caused me more trouble than the whole rest of the bike put together.

that one in pics is differant to the 650 one and I wasnt aware of the 1000 ever having one as standard so my guess is its aftermarket.

Thats the one thats on Carnivores too. Came with bike so no idea where it comes from. I have a nice diagram and receipt for the same one, but it must be invisible cause its not there now!

There is when you don't have a rack, and its perfect for bungeeing tents and other stuff to. It might not be much, but its better than the nothing at all as standard!!
