A bundy toast to all the raptor lovers, from Aussieland

Post by Raptoress »

:ride: I'm a newbie, but am loving my raptor 1000. so good to have the power with the low seat height. my other bike is a zephyr 750, so there is quite a difference. always loved the ducati monster, but it's great to have the jap motor, with similar looks.
i do need to do something with the forks, they are so stiff, there are some interesting articles in the forum my husband will have to read
about this subject.
there are many ( and i mean MANY) twistie roads around my area, (southeast queensland) i am so lucky to live here. already, in the two weeks i have owned my raptor, i have travelled 800kms. (yes i do have a job :x )
looking forward to many years of fun.

P.S.
just in case no-one knows what bundy is, in queensland, we brew sugarcane and make dark spirits from it. well it used to be an aussie icon, but i believe the poms now own it !!!

G'day everyone,

yes James, i have been to the factory, several times !

and Snapdragon, i need the rack, just this weekend we're off on 4 day trip. gotta carry the dry clothes somewhere.
it's been raining all night and there is more forecast. but we don't mind, at least we're not at work.

my husband and i travel about 20 or 25k per year on our bikes.

i was glad to find this forum, always good to read from like minded fairly normal people.

Hello and welcome. Used to have a Zephyr as well. Unfortunately I broke it. Still, the insurance money went a big way towards the Raptor so maybe it was fate!

I'll have a pint of your fine lager please.

:? Cheers, mate.
Dark rum's a favourite of mine. along with white rum, tequila, wine (red or white doesn't matter), beer, lager, cider...hang on, better stop listing drinks I like, I'll jam the web server.

I like Aussies and Australia, so long as you're not thrashing us at cricket or rugby league (Like you did again at the weekend)

I've got a cunning plan to get better biking weather. I've petitioned our prime minister to re-introduce sending cons to Oz, then I'm going to commit a really dastardly deed and get sent there...see you shortly, I hope!

 Have fun.

Hi Raptoress

Nice bike very similar to mine the with that fairing

Great to have another Aussie on the site. Especially when they are just up the road.

Looks like a shot of Somerset Dam, been round that road many times.

Hopefully will see you on the road one day .

I have never been on the Bundy Rum tour but I am pretty sure I am responsible for contributing to the funding towards the building :D

thanks for the welcome !

my hubby's main ride is an old (1982) Z1100 shaft drive Kwaka, he loves it ! he also has two Z1300 shaft drives, one for spare as they are really hard to get parts for. we also have a Z900 and a Z1000.

we do love the Kawasaki's, but i have always had a thing for the Ducati monster, i think i have gone one better getting the Cagiva !
At least my hubby will work on it, he hates the monster ( i have been baby sitting one) the cagiva has a better quality finish, and with the
jap engine, i'm hoping a lot less maintenance.

he thinks i'm mad, loving the "cylinder deficient" bikes, although i do still love my zephyr, and if i need to, it will be hard to part with.

Our ride that weekend was a laugh to start with, just rain, rain and more rain. the rally was a wash out, some roads flooded so we found a
good old pub and had ourselves a great weekend ! !

lucky for us the rain cleared up two days later and we turned the trip home into a 750km trip, normally only 400km.

there'll be many more to come, love my raptor ! ! :woot:
