Yes, i always felt they were lame compared to the tl and to a lesser extent the cagiva1000 and sv1000. They are cheap and would make a good project or all round bike especially on longer rides ,and still sound good being a v twin . Off topic a bit but i see on FIM superbike today MV Augusta are back with a racebike, looks pretty good.Spyke wrote:55 years agoI loved it, it was a big step up for me as my previous bike had been a ZZR600. Really accessible, some would say "Boring Honda" I guess! The only real downside was the side mounted radiators which were a pig in summer, especially when I was living in Sydders and getting stuck in traffic was a given. Felt much tamer than the rap, but really, really easy to get up to silly speed with the fairing doing a great job.

^WSS!
Yup, I dare not chuck a leg over one, just in case it fits, I do recall seeing one dressed up in Carbon that made my eyes water, in a good way. Shits all over the new monsters, when my lotto numbers come up I might consider trading in my commuter against one of these, even the little ones are red hot.

Road racing's where it's at - going round in circles all day is for hamsters.
Re: MV Agusta badges/decals
While we're on the subject of Italian styling, what's going on at Ducati these days? To my eye the Desmosedici and Superleggera are pretty-average to fugly, with only the Streetfighter reflecting well on the the marque, am I bonkers, or just "over" fairings?
EDIT: I think I can answer that myself, I think I'm over acres of flat red plastic, but not entirely over fairings themselves, the Carbon Edition S1000RR is still very easy on my eye:

Just bumping this cos I came across an old article comparing the TL1000S and the 'storm, or Super Hawk, as the seppos seemed to call it

Well i addded a MV to the garage as well, only on the fuel tank though after all, it was a mv augusta produced bike. Now if harley owned and built the cagiva raptor i may not have put anything on the tankcandy wrote:55 years agoI have enjoyed my raptor for about 5yrs so i thought i would add an MV to the garage so i bought a brutale 1090rr bonkers fast but i still prefer the cagiva

The new buells are a far cry from their harley days, they have some real technology in their motors, fwiw i had a x1 and it was yellow and it was a lemon! Last bike was a ducati , i miss the 160 hp though!Spyke wrote:55 years agoI'd put "Buell" for sure!ozzraptor wrote:55 years ago Now if harley owned and built the cagiva raptor i may not have put anything on the tank

Seeing as we're talking about Buell's now, the Ronin 47 looks like a mean mofo, based on a Buell 1125.

I still wonder if the loss of my 'storm hasn't left a Buell-shaped space in the garage!
