Brake pedal raptor 1000

Post by ozzraptor »

How hard are these to obtain, usually the first things to get bent in the event of a tip over
Don't see many around on ebay , i would think they be rarer than hens teeth . Left side no problems, but that right brake lever is a work of art!

Ah , hang on to them then . how do you like the rearsets compared to stock , i need the stock unfortunately to retain the exhaust hangers.

My brake pedal is redundant and therefore residing in a box in my shed. It means that there is a bit less to clean when I've just got back from a ride. Both front and rear brakes are plumbed into the handlebar lever on mine. Interesting to see that a number of new bikes are appearing from major manufacturers now with the brakes linked in this way.

I was first and I would like to claim my £10!

I've got Rosmoto rearsets on my 650, and I just used a piece of 25x3 flat aluminium to hang the exhausts from the bolt that holds in my underseat tray and my ventura rack bolts to it too. Making up a set of custom rear sets shouldn't be that hard, my Rosmoto ones aren't designed by a genius. If you want some help making some up Oz, let me know, I'll send you some dimensions and give you some pointers, I'm a boilermaker/welder by trade and specialised in aluminium, and if I can do it, anyone can!

You could try fixing the bit back on using the low-temp welding stuff that used to be called Lumiweld. You've got to be good with a torch to do it, but I've had a brake pedal repaired like that on another Cagiva for many years and its still solid. Otherwise, you'll be lucky to find another one or an alternative. I'd say repair is the best bet.
