From the owners manual: the fuel tank is provided with a reserve sensor which causes the yellow led on the dashboard to flash intermittently when the amount of fuel remaining is about 4,5 lt.The pilot lamp will remain on continually when the amount of fuel in the tank goes down to 3,1lt.
I think it'll also come on if the sensor in the tank isn't plugged in.
