Hi everyone, newbie alert!

Thanks for letting me join

Bought this a few weeks back, and have been through it to sort a few issues.

Loving the light handling, and very good on smooth roads or at speed!

Thanks, yes without baffles, sounds great!
Those baffle circlips were hard to remove though....

Engine fuelling seems fine, although it had gutted standard cans when I bought it, so the previous owner may have up-jetted the carbs.

Its too loud for me (read neighbours) without the baffles the fuel injection in the 1000 takes care of the fueling.

The 1000 is probably louder than the 650 :)

I may try re-fitting the baffles sometime, just to see.

Welcome from sunny Norfolk too! Just wondering when the 650 changed to fuel injection?

2006. They're called a 650IE and came with a little bikini fairing, flat pillion seat and grab rail.

Cor, that looks just like my 650ie, though I don't have the grab rail because some PO fitted a sort of rack. Perhaps Suzuki were late in fitting injection to the SV 650, or Cagiva had a lot of carbed motors to use up first.

Thanks Aussiejoe!

With the GSXR1000 USD front end I've fitted.

Much more compliant and better brakes!

Nice! Doesn't look to out of place.

Did you retain the GSXR front wheel?

Thanks!

Yes, GSXR wheel, brakes, mudguard and disks.
Direct bolt on to the existing Raptor yokes....easy modification.

Here are the details of the fork conversion, as some members have asked for them.

I used GSXR1000 K3 legs, Comet K3 fitment disks and K3 wheel. Bolts straight in to Raptor yokes, but you need to move the axle 2mm to the left (viewed from when sitting on the bike facing forward). This moves the wheel and disks 2mm to the left and allows clearance between calliper bodies and the disks. I made a 2mm spacer to put on the left side of the axle...although you could leave that out and just measure the gap each time you reinstall the wheel.

Mudguard is from a 1000 L5. Had to make a couple of small brackets to mount it. K3 mudguard would bolt straight on.

Callipers are from a 1000 K7. Had to machine the calliper mounting bolt bosses down by 9mm.
A K3 pair of callipers would obviously bolt straight on without machining.

I kept the standard fork springs on minimum preload. I'm 196 pounds and the suspension is firm, yet controlled. If you're lighter, you may need lighter springs. Standard 5W fork oil with following damping settings.
Rebound 6 clicks out
Compression 12 clicks out
